Our organization is popularly known for the Smooth Truck Fest, and home of the museum. Other aspects of what we do: seek opportunities to promote community development, partner with other organizations/organizers in various ways, look for methods that promote a sense of community connection, tourism, and a vast of other work. Our goal is to add ways that make Smooth Rock Falls an attractive, vibrant and diverse place to live. Not only do we aim to make residence proud to call Smooth Rock Falls their home, we want to give people the ability to brag about it!

Official Terms

The Smooth Rock Falls Economic Development Corporation was incorporated in November 2006. The objective at incorporation is to promote community and economic development. With public involvement, we encourage and support strategic planning in order to increase self-reliant investments and job creation. Our role is also to assist in expanding the economy in Smooth Rock Falls and to attract new and diverse enterprises to our town. Click here to see more details!

We are a safe, friendly, bilingual community in which to live, raise a family and retire. The town supports many volunteer groups and has a passion for promoting the north and its attributes. The location of Smooth Rock Falls makes this a great place for the outdoor enthusiast and adventurist.

Visitors are encouraged to take advantage of our museum at 45 Third Avenue, which depicts the heritage of this area. You can learn about the community and the vital part it played in shaping the Forestry and Energy sector in Northern Ontario.

Smooth Rock Falls is also the proud host of its annual festival the “Smooth Truck Fest” which takes place the third weekend of August. This is a tire-squealing and rubber-burning good time for people of all ages. The festival draws about 4000 people annually. It includes a parade, Show'n'Shine, heritage exhibits, children’s activities, nightly entertainment and of course trucks, transport races. It’s an event that needs to be experienced first-hand to be truly appreciated. Save the date, come out and see what Smooth Rock Falls has to offer – you will be glad you did!
